Critics of Globalization
A recent United Nations report notes that the social conditions of 60 countries are worse off now than 30 years ago. The richest, 20% percent of the worlds people, consume 86 % of the worlds recourses. While, the poorest, 80 % percent of the worlds people, only consume 14 %. The wealthiest countries have grown much richer over the past two decades. The poorest have become more impoverished. In countries such as the United States, the wealthiest, have reaped almost all of the gains that globalization has offered; the poorest, have seen either their income decline in recent decades as wages have remained static or actually have become unemployed as jobs are lost to outsourcing.
